• A new Nottingham-based bodybuilder, East Midlands Bodybuilders, has been set up by Placketts Holdings. The company has been launched because "there is a big gap in the market in this area for a good-quality bodybuilder," says managing director Paul McGlone. Placketts Holdings has invested 250,000 in the venture, which employs nine people.
F:MB's first major contract is for 30 dry freight box vans for Placketts Transport, the express parcels division of Placketts Holdings, but McGlone says EMB will not automatically get Placketts contracts and will have to tender for the work. "We have got to stand on our own feet," he says.
