THE FIRST study to be made of East-West traffic in goods in terms of tonnage and the means of transport used is to be considered by a committee of the Economic Commission for Europe.
Sixteen continental West European countries, the USSR and all East European countries are included in the scope of the study.
Transit traffic is excluded from the study which will be discussed by the Inland Transport Committee when it holds its 37th annual session in Geneva from January 30 to February 3.
