A REPORT by the general manager of A Liverpool City Transport with regard to the proposed specification for 70 new singledecker buses the undertaking intends to purchase has been considered by the transport committee.
This follows the decision to cancel an order for 130 Leyland Atlantean double-deckers and substitute it with one for 60 Atlanteans and 70 Leyland Panther rear-underfloor-engined singledeckers (COMMERCIAL MOTOR., October 14, 1966).
Mr. Burrows, the general manager, has also reported on discussions he has had with Leyland Motors Ltd., on the subject of the new Panthers and has suggested that it would be advisable to include about 20 AEC Swift chassis in the current order of 70 singledeckers.
Atlanteans for Stockton: Stockton-on-Tees Corporation is ordering seven Atlantean bus chassis from Leyland Motors for delivery in 1968 and will invite tenders for the supply of the bodies.
