Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A further 1; miles of the Midland Link Motorways (M6) between Darlaston and Bescot in Staffordshire, was opened to traffic last Friday.

This section runs from the motorway's present southern terminal on the WalsallWolverhampton Road (A454) at Darlaston to the Walsall-Wednesbury Road (A461) at Bescot where there is a two-level interchange.

The Midland Link Motorways are due for completion by the end of 1971 when there will be connections between MO, M5 and MI Motorways to provide the West Midlands Conurbation with continuous motorways to London, the North West, South Wales and the South West. Work is already under way on the northern extension of M5 between Quinton, in Worcestershire, and Ray Hall, in Staffordshire, and on three further sections of the southern extension of MO between Bescot and M1 at Catthorpe, Leics.

The sections now being built on M6 are from Bescot to Queslett Road on the Birmingham boundary, the multi-level interchange at Gravelly Hill, which will link the Aston Expressway to the motorway, and from A46 at Ansty in Warwickshire to Ml. Work on the remaining sections of MO is due to start early next year
