• Nestle UK is to close its Warrington depot with the loss of 110 jobs, including 28 drivers, by next March because the site is "no longer viable".
Nestle distribution operations director Peter McAdam says there have been a number of changes to the business_ Nestle customers are centralising their warehousing so reducing the need for local deliveries. And a new computerised stock management system means all orders can be handled at the company's head office in Croydon.

Warrington's regional deliveries will be handled by Nestle's centralised finished goods store and distribution centre at Bardon in Leicestershire.
The company hopes to sell the Mill Lane, Winwick site in Warrington and hopes to find alternative employment in Nestle or the Warrington area for redundant staff.
