KESWICK magistrates last week dismissed a summons against a greengrocer for using a car said to be adapted for carrying goods, without a C licence.
The defendant, John Houghton, St. John's Street, Keswick, had removed the boot of a car, fixed a small wooden frame and used the vehicle to deliver his orders.
The case had been adjourned for a fortnight in order to obtain a ruling from the Licensing Authority as to the legality of the procedure_
