IT West Division) were fined £2 by Penrith magistrates last week, because one of the vehicles of the Carleton depot had been emitting dense black smoke, it was stated that the vehicle was one listed for disposal and B.R.S. had been loth to incur the expense of reconditioning it. Being hard pressed for a vehicle, however, they had put it into use.
The driver was conditionally dis charged. •
