• Two contracts are being negotiated by the Department of the Environment for year-long feasibility studies of the Minitram system of automatic urban transport which was described at the recent TRRL conference, Moving people in cities (CM
April 13). The two companies involved are Hawker Siddeley Dynamics Ltd and EASAMS (General Electric Company) and it is intended that the proposal will be demonstrated in a UK city centre.
