Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HAVING READ your news item (CM September 5) headed Coachmen Join Up, I have taken several coach tours abroad for the reasons you set out in your article — there are no air delays to worry about, and the experience of seeing countries you wouldn't see travelling by air is not to be missed.

But there are some setbacks. May I suggest that if passengers have to travel at night, without stopping at an hotel overnight, a seat could be tilted back to its full extent for comfortable sleeping, and fellow travellers would have enough leg room to stretch out during the night.

There should be less seating and more space between each pair of seats.

I'm sure you would find there would be a rush to use the Continental service if these few modifications were made. Please also make sure drivers see that during the night, when the temperature drops, there is adequate warm air circulation, while passengers sleep. I have been frozen to death some nights on foreign coaches. I. SCARLETT Dundee House Newcastle Street Silverdale, Newcastle-underLyme
