• Hauliers using the Forth Road Bridge will have to pass on to trade and industry the cost of increased tolls which will come into effect on November 1 next, warns the RHA, which has previously protested against the proposal to raise the toll from a flat rate of 25 6d to a tiered structure of 35 for cars and light commercial vehicles, 5s for scheduled buses and 10s for commercial vehicles.
Hauliers hope to offset the increase in charges to some extent by the concessionary rate of Be to the operator who uses the bridge at least 32 times in a month.
