Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ALDER VALLEY bus engineers have developed their own test rig for Leyland National power-steering rams.

Assistant area engineer Alan Scard designed the rig to handle Adwest Serv-a-Rak steering units used in the company's fleet of Nationals.

Before the rig was bought, power-steering faults could only be identified by stripping down a unit on a bus, and downtime increased drastically.

Now a suspect unit can be replaced immediately, and the rig can be used to check through a ram within minutes. The company is convinced that this method saves many hours on unit repairs.

Alder Valley reports considerable outside interest in the rig, and has dealt with enquiries from other National Bus subsidiaries and from Europe.
