TOLLS for crossing the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge are to go up next month.
Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Kenneth Clarke has approved the application by Cleveland County Council and the new charges will come into effect on November 5, replacing the current tolls that were introduced in August 1977.
The new charges, with the existing ones in brackets, are: Vehicles over 30cwt unladen and exceeding 3 tons laden weight, 63p (30p) Cars and light goods vehicles up to 30cwt unladen or 3 tons laden weight, 27p (11p + 2p per passenger up to 17p) Trailers drawn by vehicles in previous category, 22p (11p)
