by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, a book called "50-Point Traffic Census—the First Five Years" was published last week. In 1956, aseries of traffic counts at 50 sites were set up, the main object being to estimate traffic trends from year to year on all classified roads in urban and rural areas of Great Britain.
In the case of goods vehicles, it was shown that 'vehicle miles in 1960 had increased by 29 per cent, compared with the 1956 figures.
