A FIVE MILE (8km) stretch of the planned motorway linking the Frejus tunnel exit in France to Turin in Italy has been opened.
This brings the total distance covered by motorway to 15 miles (25km) and stretches from Freney Autoport in France to Savouix in Italy. Heavy goods vehicles can now avoid crossing Bardonnecchia and a level crossing.
Road widening between Suze and Turin has also been completed.
