In this connection we may well draw attention to the illustrations reproduced on this page, which show a particularly capacious pantechnicon body mounted upon a Crossley Eagle passenger-type chassis. / This has been supplied to the order of C. and R. Motors, Ltd., which has premises both in London and'Black-, pool and which is using it in connection with removals contracts, where speedy execution of the work is a vital factor. I'The body is mainly intended for the transport of bulky loads of medium weight. The underframing is constructed of oak, the cross-bearers being reinforced by .steel flitch plates. The side and end frames are of ash, as also are the roof sticks, the latter being strengthened by steel car-lines.

The exterior of the body is panelled in ft-in. Sundeala sheets and the interior is protected by longitudinal slats. There is a deep tailboard at the rear, this being supported by chains from the side pillars, above:. it being two cupboardtype doors. When the tailboard is lowered it serves as a ramp and facilitates loading and unloading operations. Two flush-fitting electric lights are

mounted in • the interior and a strong 'wall-plug at the tear near side provides a coupling for a semi-portable or hand The driver's cab is arranged with a suitable clearance around the radiator. A sliding door in the hack of the cab providesl'access to the body. The cab is of the fully enclosed type and is built to the width of the body, although the chassis is arranged for forward control. It is equipped with comfortable, remov able, semi-bucket seats for the driver andhis . mate. Both cab doors have sliding windows. . Part of -the bonnet inside the cab is covered by asbestos and -sheet steel on each side, thus, protecting the occupants of the cab from

excessive heat.. • . •
