AVERAGE EARNINGS of Mobil's tanker drivers now exceed £13,000 a year, following a deal between the company and its Transport and General Workers Union members.

In a deal, which takes effect from May 1 this year, the 454 tanker drivers and associated ancillary staff, have had their £148.79 basic weekly wage increased by 4.5 per cent to £155.49.

From January 1 next year, the productivity supplement will be raised by 4.5 per cent to £15.74 and consolidated into the basic wage rate.

According to the company, the average weekly earnings of drivers stands now at £258, or £13,416 a year.
