PROHIBITIONS on lorries of over 7.5 tonnes and on lorries with trailers in West Germany will apply to the following roads between 0700 hours on Saturday July 1 and 2000 hours on Sunday July 2: Al, Autobahnkreuz Leverkusen-West to junction Erfttal; A57, access point KampLintfort to Autobahnkreuz Koln-Nord; A61, access point KerpenTurnich via Autobahnkreuz Koblenz and Autobahnkreuz FrankOlthal to Autobahndreieck Hockenheim; B19, access point Memminggen-Sud to access point Kempten Leubas; B27, Rottweil to LeinfeldenEchterdingen; B30, Weingarten to UlmDonauthal, junction with road 1260; B3I, Arnch (district of Konstann) to Lindau.

These are intended to speed holiday traffic and are in addi tion to the longer-term bans listed in CM last week.

GREATER Manchester County Council is seeking authority to ban heavy lorries from some areas and to establish lorry parks in others.

In a section of the Greater Manchester Bill, it proposes to ban parking of vehicles above 30 cwt if up to 10 residents complain, and to develop a network of lorry parks throughout the county.

The planning committee is to object to the licensing authority when hauliers do not provide sufficient offstreet parking.
