Last December the company took over 11 service stations from the Rank Organisation.
Sites: The sites which are due to be re-named and upgraded by end of summer. They are at Farthing Corner on the M2 between J4-5 nr Gillingham, Kent; Aust on the M4 at J21 next to the Severn Bridge; Cardiff West on the M4 at J33; Swansea on the M4 at J47; Hilton Park on the M6 between J10A-11 nr Wolverhampton; Knutsford on the M6 between J18-19; Forton on the M6 between J32-33 nr Lancaster; Anderton on the M61 between J6-8 nr Bolton; at the Al/A46 junction outside Newark, and at the A55/A5 junction at Bangor, North Wales.
Opening hours: 10 of the 11 sites are open to truck drivers 365 days a year.
Parking: Overnight space for 30-60 HGVs. Costs £5 including £5 food voucher, free showers and security patrol 24 hours a day.
Accommodation: All sites except Newark, Knutsford and Anderton have 40-64 bedrooms with showers, toilets, TVs (Sky TV becomes available in the summer), hair dryers and trouser presses. A single room costs £32 (cheaper at weekends) including free Continental breakfast or voucher towards English breakfast.
Food: Restaurants for HGV drivers are open 07:30-22:30hrs at all sites except Newark and Bangor, where drivers share with motorists. Main course averages £3.25; pudding is 80p and a mug of tea 40p.
Entertainment: TV and lounge; darts and pool tables at some sites.
Services: Diesel, with a 50p meal voucher for every 50 litres bought; recovery/breakdown; faxes during office
hours (£2 for first A4 sheet; per sheet thereafter); photocopier (10p per copy); shop; cash dispensers; and at least 10 phones.
