• A vehicle rental company has been launched in East Anglia by two ex-employees of Willhire.
Former Willhire managing director Roger Williams and general manager Nigel Stewart have set up Alpha Vehicle Rentals, backed by finance from Stewart and the company's first customer, London and International Mercantile.
The Willhire operation went into receivership in September 1990, but was bought by Willcliffe Holdings and now trades successfully as Willhire Group.
