Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Thanks to Bob Terris, the debonair MD of Southampton-based Meachers Transport, who was also at the Institute of Logistics and Transport conference, for his choice comments on 3 and 4PL companies (a phrase like a red rag to a bull round these parts— third and fourth-party logistics for those of you with English as a first language): "They seem to try and get one up on the competition or rebrand themselves by increasing the number—it will be 5PL or 6PL logistics next But I think they should really be called clearing houses—that's more accurate."

And following the launch of Ling Alliance where all 28 directors of its member companies pulled a truck for five metres to demonstrate that "they were all pulling together", Terris had a different view of the reason behind it: "They're just trying to save on diesel bills —it's the duty that does it."
