THE NEEDS of industry must be given priority when the Severn Bridge is rebuilt over the next three to four years.
The Freight Transport Association said that this week, after the Department of Transport announced a programme for rebuilding structural defects on the bridge, which forms an integral part of the M4 LondonSwansea route.
It is to seek talks with the DTp to ensure that, where lanes have to be closed, the inconvenience to goods vehicle operators is minimised, although it accepts that the repairs must be carried out.
