Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WE ARE FLEET managers with our own Driver CPC instructors. We have found that the training, one day a year, gives us compliance with health and safety training requirements (which is why we have to do it anyway).

The tachograph/hours law courses that we run have a positive effect, and our faults and infringements are signiicantly down.

Most drivers, if they are honest, agree that they do learn something – even if it is putting to bed a lot of “cafe lawyer myths” .

As an industry, we have only ourselves to blame for the general “someone else can train and I will poach the driver and have no training costs” attitude.

Most eastern European drivers have completed their Driver CPC or are further down this road, so it may be a genuine threat. The cost to the government is greater than revenue coming in, so I don’t see it as a money-raising exercise.
