Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Kelvin Central is the fifth company so far to be offered for sale in Scottish Bus Group's privatisation.

Kelvin operates around the north of Glasgow and in Lanarkshire, with 492 buses and 1,608 staff. KCB was formed in 1989 to unite the Kelvin and Central companies following prolonged labour relations problems at Central which culminated in 14 weeks of strike action.

The recently appointed managing director, Ian Blundell, has said that management and unions have agreed to forget past differences in their attempt to win control of the company (CM 12-18 July).

Announcements are expected soon on the sale of SBG's Citylink and Eastern companies.
