• The biggest UK singledecker order since 1977 was signed last week between West Midlands Travel and Leyland Bus. The order, worth £11 million, is for 150 Leyland Lynxes for stage carriage work. They seat 51 passengers with 22 standing.
Their Cummins L10 engines will drive via ZF Economat four-speed automatic gearboxes to Leyland Bus doublereduction rear axles. Deliveries will start in June.
