Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Examination of spray suppression equipment, fitted to heavy goods vehicles and trailers, became part of the MoT test from January this year. The Department of Transport advises operators and drivers to check their vehicles and trailers to ensure that they comply with spray suppression requirements before submitting the vehicles for testing.

To help those involved, a comprehensive package on HGV test procedures will soon be available from: The Goods Vehicle Centre, PO Box 12, Swansea SA1 1BP. The package contains a short video, fact sheets and a gauge.

The provision for examination of spray suppression equipment is contained in The Goods Vehicle (Plating and Testing) Regulations 1988.

Details of vehicles affected by this legislation can be found in the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986. HMSO Si 1986 1078.
