Mr Selkirk was previously distribution director of United Biscuits before the separate distribution company was formed.

Mr Bertin is responsible for the purchase of fuel and certain other bought-in services and the sale of obsolete vehicles and equipment. Mr Poplett is responsible for the purchasing of engineering, electrical and non-engineering equipment and materials.

Richard Truelove has been appointed to the board of TI Transport Equipment as marketing director.

He joined the company in 1974, and before accepting this new position was head of a department dealing with international sales. Mr Truelove is based at the company's headquarters in Daventry.

Roadways Hire has reported the appointment of a new board member. He is Richard James, who joined the company in 1977 from Forward Trust.

Robert Cranfield has become the technical manager for retreads of Retreading Equipment, in Alton, Hampshire. He brings with him 14 years' experience with Firestone in New Zealand. Mr Cranfield's responsibilities include quality standards, technical liaison and training programmes for the company's 60 concessionaires in the UK.

Westonian Commercials has announced a new board member. He is Colin Marshall, who has been with the company four years as accountant.

Telford Motors also has a new board member. Ron Counsell takes his seat on the board having been with the company since its acquisitic from Ross Garages.

Albert Lighton is the ne sales director of Zenith Carl uretters. Mr Lighton WE previously sales director of ti Lucas subsidiary Leslie Ha tridge.
