Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MHE,ORDINARY shifting spanner is

an essential part of all workshops and of every driver's kit, and it is, perhaps, the tool which is subjectedto more abuse than any other. It is often asked to tackle jobs that are beyond its strength, and, being more or less cheap in first cost, is handled very roughly. Those drivers who have used various kinds of spanner in the course of years of experience will know that the ordinary types possess certain drawbacks; and that some of them readily f ...cture and will not' stand up to extra leverage. It is for this reason that the Harwol -gpecialities Co., of 11, Strand Street, Liverpool, have . introduced a patent

C34 self-adjusting ring spanner of the type which we illustrate on this page. A spanner of this design is claimed to be far superior to the various types of shifting spanner, and, in so far as it can be used as A stud drawer and pipe wrench, as well as being of use in gripping hexagon, square and star nuts, it possesses an all-round utility.

The general construetion of the spanner is simplicity 'itself, and the illustration shows clearly the manner of its application. The spanner is made in two sizes—one size takes hexagon nuts from in. to 1 in. and is 16 ins, in overall length, the other can be used on nuts from el in. to in. dimensions and is 10 ins. long. The price of these two sizes of spanner is 15s. and 12s. 6d. respectively. The spanner is extremely strong and should make special appeal to drivem of motor vehicles and engineers.
