rHE Freight Transport Assoiation is in favour of an pswich by-pass by the souhem route and has written to he inspector conducting the oblic inquiry to tell him so. Improved access to the laven ports and Ipswich dock rea and a reduction in the low of traffic through the own would result from .dopting this proposal, in the 'pinion of the FTA's Anglia ivision. There would also be ietter communication betwen the town's industrial area .nd the rest of the United Cingdom.
British Rail's contribution to reight movement in the area ; valuable but limited, acording to the FTA, and ransfer of freight from road to ail would not reduce road lovement significantly.
