Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

LDV HAS revealed it is in talks with a number of companies to distribute its new range of vans around the globe in a bid to boost sales to five times their current level.

The new van, to cover the 2.2 to 3.5-tonne sector, will be launched next year and until the end of 2004 will be sold alongside the current ageing Pilot and Convoy range. With current production barely topping 10,000, some might see the plans as over-ambitious. Not so, says an LDV spokesman: "We will grow volumes in the UK with the new product and we are also in discussions with a number of other companies worldwide."

Output is predicted to reach 50,000 per year within five years, he adds. The spokesman refuses to divulge names, although industry sources indicate lveco and Proton have been in talks with the Birmingham company.

The second, and biggest, consignment of new tooling for the all-new range is due to leave Poland this week, with the remaining presses expected to arrive at LDV's Birmingham factory by November.
