Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

WORK is due to commence on VV October 1 on an extension to Victoria Coach Station, London. Announcing th:s last week, the proprietors of the station, London Coastal Coaches Ltd., stated that a seven-storey office block would be built at the corner of Buckingham Palace Road and Semley Place, together w;th a large basement garage to accommodate staff cars and coaches. An additional area to the west of the station. at present used as a private car park, and the street known as Flask Lane, which will be closed, will be incorporated in the station, and the main coach entrances will be from Semley Place.

The whole of the new ground floor area will be devoted to the coach station, whilst the greater part of the offices will be occupied by the British Overseas Airways Corporation in conjunction with their London terminal on the opposite side of Buckingham Palace Road. Addi

tional overhead cover will be provided for coach passengers, with other improved facilities, and the modifications to the coach area will improve the flow of traffic through the station. It is expected that the coaching area will be fully operative by next Easter, whilst the building should be completed by January, 1966.

One of the biggest advantages of the new layout will be the removal of the coach entrances from Buckingham Palace Road, where serious congestion occurs, particularly at peak holiday times, and where coaches frequently become jammed in a queue of taxis, buses and private cars. Coaches from the north and west already approach the station via Semley Place, and freeing them from the need to enter Buckingham Palace Roadwill he an obvious advantage, as also will be the provision of additional space for the unloading of coaches which are arriving every minute at holiday peaks.
