Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THIS company, exhibiting for the first I time at Earls Court, is showing three models ranging from 12to 20-ton capacity. The smallest is a 12/14-ton Auto 5th and, as the name implies, is fitted with the well-known Auto 5th coupling, having a very wide rubbing plate and turntable surface. The stability of vehicles fitted with the accepted automatic couplings is greatly improved by this coupling and a kit is provided for converting to firth

wheel SAL coupling when this is required, making a quick and cheap conversion possible.

An oscillating axle model known as the Osca, and having a carrying capacity of 16 tons, is also on show. The frame is of pressed steel, the neck being heavily reinforced to prevent dro:oping when standing loaded on its landing gear. Trailing radius arms provide location for the axles and the springing medium is compressed rubber, this being very effective and requiring no lubrication.

A 30-ft.-long 20-tonner is the pride of the stand and is one of the trailers to be fitted

with fabricated main beams. These are continuous-machine-welded I section with a bottom flange 5 in. by -1 in. and a top flange

4 in. by in.; the beam is 15 in. deep. The cress-members are spaced at I5-in. centres and 8 gauge rave members make up a very rugged frame indeed.
