Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Yorkshire Traction Co. Ltd., of Barnsley. has absorbed the Mexborough and Swinton Traction Co. Ltd. and County Motors (Lepton) Ltd. The move, which took effect from October 1, has been described as part of the "rationalization" programme following the purchase by the Transport Holding Company of the British bus interests of the British Electric Traction Co. Ltd.

The County Motors fleet, which comprised a total of about 20 buses and coaches, will lose its identity to Yorkshire Traction. However, no decision has yet been made whether or not to retain the identity of the Mexborough fleet, which is made up of 50 buses and coaches.
