FiGURES issued by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders on Monday show a drop of approximately £500,000 in the value of new commercial-vehicle exports in August, compared with July, when there was a decline of about £1.3m. from the June total.

Output in August comprised 12,34/1 goods vehicles, road-haulage tractors and special-type vehicles, 431 motorbuses and trolleybuses and 81 batteryelectrics. Of the goods vehicles, 6.034 were of under 15-cwt. capacity, 2,564 from 15 cwt.-3 tons, 2,512 from 3-6 tons, and 1,238 over 6 tons.

The passenger vehicles comprised four trolleybuses and 134 double-deck and 293 single-deck motorbuses.
