Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

NAEMBERS of the employers' panel al of the Yorkshire Joint Conciliation Board met in Leeds, on Tuesday, to discuss the employers' case to be presented before the National Appeals Committee in London, on November 5, when that body will consider the disagreement between the Yorkshire employers' and employees' panels, in connection with the permanent settlement of wages and conditions.

There is considerable reticence with regard to the employers' proposals, but it is understood that they are much on the lines of the Scottish agreement. The employers will oppose the payment of wages above Grade 2, and they will object to the continuance of the guaranteed 48-hour week and the compulsory week's holiday with pay.

The Yorkshire employees, it is understood, will seek Grade 1 wages in practically the whole of the West Riding of Yorkshire, in addition to Hull and district. The employees are also asking that various other towns where Grade 3 wages are now paid shall be raised to Grade 2.
