" semi-trailers—the Challenger S—has been uprated from 22 to 24 tons gross train weight to meet the requirements of the new C and U Regulations.

There is no specification change as the range was designed for the higher weight; lengths of from 24 ft to 34 ft. are available, unladen weights being from 2 tons 15 cwt. to 3 tons 10 cwt.

Scammell automatic-coupling semi-trailers are being supplied from December 1 equipped to meet the new braking requirements and conversion kits for existing units will be available from January 1.
