DAIMLER Transport Vehicles Ltd., is to supply Bournemouth Corporation Transport with the increasingly popular Roadfiner rear-engined single-deck bus chassis. Eight of these have been ordered and will be fitted with 49-seat bodies by Willowbrook Ltd., featuring a double-width entrance/exit and step-free gangway to match Fleetline and Leyland Atlantean double deckers already in service. Ample space will also he provided for luggage.

The chassis will feature the new togglelink rubber suspension, developed in conjunction with BET, and be fitted with Cummins V-6 9.63litre engines derated to 135 b.h.p. at 2,050 r.p.m.

Daimler has also received a second repeat order for 20 Fleetline double-deck bus chassis from Maidstone and District Motor Services Ltd., which will bring the total of Fleetlines in service with the company to 75.
