II pillarless semi-trailer capable of carrying both frozen and chilled products to Thorntons, the confectioners.
The 12.2m tandem-axle body will be hauled by an ERF E8 4x 2 tractor — the second E8 bought by Thorntons and the first of an order of six.
It is built to the maximum 2.6m overall width for temperature-controlled vehicles (2.47m internal width) and has a 1.23m frozen goods compartment at the front, separated from the main area by a removable bulkhead.
It can operate down to —30°C: The 10.97m rear chilled section operates at 8°C.
