Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A RECOMMENDED scale of fair t't.charges for removals was submitted by Mr. W. lsard, chairman of the coatings and information committee of the National Association of Furniture Warehousemen and Removers, at the association's annual conference which opened on Tuesday.

The scale has been approved by the executive committee for use by members, solely as a guide in checking their own charges. It includes charges for transport when employing a driver and foreman over mileages ranging from 10-400. A table of suggested rates for terminal work gives figures based on a unit of an hour when employing only a driver or two, three or four men.

In presenting the schedule, Mr. Isard complained of the lack of assistance given to the committee by members of the Association at the conference at Brighton last October.

At the annual general meeting, on Tuesday, Mr. E. J. White, who has been acting president for the past seven months, was elected president. Mr. C. A. Bali, senior vice-president, Mr. E. B. Haynes, junior vice-president, and Mr, S. J. Harris, honorary treasurer. Mr. tfarris succeeds Mr. J. L. Gerson.

R.H.E. CENTRALIZE NW WORKING

CONTROL of the Blackstock Street depot of the Road Haulage Executive last week passed from the Central Liverpool Group to the Oldham Group. This completed a reorganization of Merseyside, Manchester and Oldham systems, which was designed to bring the Liverpool system under unified control with Manchester.

Mr. T. Lawrenson, chairman of the road transport section of Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, and of the North Western (Western) Area of the Road Haulage Association, commented: " This is a move towards greater centralization, whereas Liverpool traders want service on their doorsteps."
