POLICE ARE HUNTING two conmen who tricked a driver into stopping before stealing his truck and 00,000 load of Cadbury's Roses chocolates.

The incident happened at around 6am lastiliursday (18 March ).The driver from Rotherham-based E Pawson Transport was travelling along the A38 near Swinfen, Staffordshire, when two men in a passing car fooled him into stopping by waving a number plate.

As he was inspecting his truck. one of the men jumped into it and drove away. The car involved is thought to be a blue Rover.

The truck was later recovered minus its load in Covern Heath, Wolverhampton.

A Staffordshire police spokesman says: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen the lorry being unloaded or who is offered cut-price chocolates."

A spokeswoman for E Pawson says the driver was shocked but unharmed and declined to comment further.
