Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

SOME 700 vehicles were withdrawn from Covent Garden market, London, on Monday by members of the Road Haulage Association, because of the financial loss as the result of the strike of night pitchers and the go-slow tactics of porters. The men were in dispute with the Covent I Garden Tenants' Association over a pay increase.

Free hauliers' vehicles normally bring about half the imported produce into the market from the docks. Some members continued to take goods away in order to prevent the food from turning bad.

The amount of produce handled at Covent Garden has dropped by '70 per cent. since the start of the dispute. Other London markets have accepted the traffic.

MORE NEW VEHICLES

AS compared with the figures for January of last year, registrations of new vehicles, excluding cars and motorcycles, showed an increase of 3,754 in January of this year. "Other goods" accounted for 2.959 of this figure and " agricultural engines (€2 class)" for 604. Details are given in the table below.
