• Lucas Kienzle is to stop selling the Groeneveld speed limiter system, replacing it with a unit from VDO the German-based manufacturer. This follows last year's purchase of a controlling stake in VDO by one of Lucas Kienzle's parent companies, Mannesmann AG.
Operators already using the Groenveld limiter will be able to get parts and service from the Lucas Kienzle distribution network until August 1993. Groeneveld will continue to supply back-up for its system, which it will be supplying direct from its chassis lubrications plant in Loughborough, Leics at the end of August. At the same time Lucas Kienzle will start selling the VDO system.
