• A door-to-door-transport service between the UK and the CIS (former Soviet Union) begins next week, operated by Euro-East Transportation.
Kent-based Euro-East expects five trucks to run on the 20-day round trip, leaving the UK about every 10 days. The vehicles will run with an armed guard from Poland to Moscow, where the company has set up a high-security depot.
The service, which is being run with Russian shipping line Morline, includes onward deliveries from Moscow.
