Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

vehicle over 3 tons unladen with a maximum gross weight of 10 tons; I am over 21 years of age? When will the new hgv driving licences be available?

If you are over 21 and have been driving the vehicle you describe, then you should already have an hgv driving licence. If you meant to quote a vehicle less than 3 tons unladen and over 7.38 tons gross then you can continue to drive it. If you can prove that you had been driving it for six months in any consecutive 12 months between January 1, 1975, and April 15, 1976, you may claim an hgv licence restricted to vehicles up to 10 tonnes gross as of right. Otherwise you must take a test. The DoE expects that the application forms, DLGI (c), for the new hgv licences will be available from traffic area offices sometime next month.
