ASTATEMENT from the National Conference of Road . Transport Clearing Houses said that its first reaction . was that the recommendation to permit. a free-for:all by the abolition of goods vehicle licensing would have a harmful. effect on trade and industry.

The report's 'reference to the lack of an extensive network of clearing houses would appear to be somewhat inaccurate, said the NCRTC, as there were Clearing House members in most. if not all, towns with a big flow of traffic.
