Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

After a year's research, Simoniz has produced an exhaust protection paint which, it is claimed, gives longer life to exhaust systems and safeguards exhausts up to 350deg (the average system reaches a maximum of 300dega The paint is applied with a brush to the exhaust system from the manifold to the end of the exhaust pipe.

Made from an expensive high quality silicone-based resin, it resists both oil and petrol, prevents rust, guards against corrosion and also resists road cleaning materials.

The paint dries to a light aluminium decorative finish.

Price: 12s 6d per 5oz can. The most receht addition to the range of vehicle cleaning ma chines marketed by Wilcomatic is the all-purpose Model 503A. A three-brush machine, it has been designed to cater for all aspects of washing. As it will clean anything from the smallest car to a pantechnicon, it is suitable for the mixed-fleet operator.

The machine can easily be operated by the driver of the vehicle to be cleaned.

The manufacturer claims that the 503A offers fast, quality washing by means of a "double-pass" action as opposed to the single action of the conventional drive-through stationary wash. Four different types and speed of wash, depending upon the state of the vehicle to be cleaned, are available as follows: Method 1 All areas of the vehicle are washed twice.

2 All areas, except for the roof and ,front, are washed twice. Roof and front receive a single wash.

3 All areas, except for the front are washed twice. The front receives a single wash.

4 The side brushes only operate, and the sides of the vehicle are washed twice.

The machine's working speed of travel is 20ft per minute.

The 503A is of robust construction and functional design. The nylon, star-shaped brush units are totally encased and consequently prevent either dirt or water splashing the walls of the wash bay. All motors are fitted with thermal relays which control the brushes and eliminate the danger of brushes damaging the bodywork.

Units are finished in stoveenamelled yellow, or in a colour to suit customers' individual requirements, and are edged in polished aluminium.

The model 503A is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation, and only measures a minimum of 8ft length by 14ft width. The length of the guide rails depends upon the largest size of vehicle to be cleaned.
