K. B. Farrington, D. R. Marsh and J. K. Thompson have been elected to the board of Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd. Formerly directors of Boden Trailers, acquired by Crane Fruehauf Trailers in 1967, at three have been acting in a directorial capacity throughout this past year and now have full Group director status. an T. Morrow has also accepted a seat on the board. Of the American directors. K. W. Tantlinger has resigned, and at the request of Crane Fruehauf associates in the United States he has been replaced by David E. Bernstein.

Andrew Budden 27 (left) has been appointed Pointer Group depot manager at King's Lynn. He succeeds M. J. Forder, a member of the Pointer executive board, who. moves to head office in Norwich. Mr. Forder is one of three executive directors who have now become responsible for all Pointer Group transport activities. He will oversee general transport: Fl. S. Parrott will be in charge of tankers: and G. S. Wheatley will be responsible for maintenance and all matters connected with Pointer cars and vans.

Norman Mellors has been appointed sales director of Taskers Trailers Ltd.: he also continues his responsibilities as sales director of the associate company Cravens Homalloy (Sheffield) Ltd. F. W. Knight has resigned from his position as sales director of Taskers Trailers. G. W. Skinner has been promoted from supply co-ordination manager to manager. operations, by Amoco (UK).

K. C. Bull has been appointed senior UK sales engineer for the Wickham Engineering Co. Ltd.. refuse and sewage division. G. F. Pinner, sales executive in charge of the division, will now concentrate on the company's export market.

William M. Warner has been appointed general manager of AC-Delco division of General Motors Ltd. at Dunstable. Beds. Mr. Warner was previously director of purchasing and material control for Frigidaire division of General Motors of Canada Ltd. He succeeds Max A. Aldridge who was named chairman and managing director of General Motors Ltd. in May.

Sidney G. Bellamy, for many years the secretary of Wessex Coaches Ltd.. has been appointed a director Jeffrey D. Braithwaite, 41, since 1964 road transport engineer with Silver Roadways Ltd., takes up a new post on Monday as group fleet engineer for Silcock and Coiling Ltd.

Ronald Ian Smith, 34. since 1967 National Coal Board assistant marketing manager (planning), HQ South Yorkshire area, has been appointed NCB commercial manager. road transport service, from August 4.

John Breedon Smith has been appointed manager of the Cambridge branch of Serck Services Ltd. George Brook, north-west regional chairman of the National Bus Co., has been appointed a member of the North West Economic Planning Board,

DAF Concessionaires Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of van Doorne's Automobielfabrieken, the manufacturers. on April 1. 1969. With this change the board of directors has also been altered as follows: M.P.A. van Doorne (Netherlands)— chairman: C. J. Hulshorst (Netherlands)—managing director; Drs. P. J. G. van Doorne (Netherlands): L. van Dongen (Netherlands): N. R. CunninghamReid; Earl of Brecknock. To underline the closer links with the parent company, the company's name has been changed to DAF Motors (GB) Ltd.

OBITUARY

We record with regret the death of J. Boatwright and D. Marples.

Mr. Jack Boatwright. who was 57. had been manager of Serck Services Ltd's Cambridge branch since 1962.

Mr. Dudley Marples, a former director of G. T. Riches and Co. Ltd., died suddenly at his home in Wales last week. He had retired in 1964.
