• Shearings Coach & Bus, Europe's largest coach oper ator, is spending million on a new depot at Bryn, south of Wigan town centre where it is currently based.
The new depot will accommodate around 250 vehicles and the workshops for the company's 500-strong fleet, with 22 bays, two spray booths and an MOT testing bay. Shearings hopes to attract more outside work — more than 300 employees will be based there from the end of the summer, with up to 30 new jobs created.
