The reservoir, which holds 3.7 litres, shares its oil with the steering box, so that was emulsified too.
A screwdriver through the universal joint will show if there is any play in either the bearing, or the universal joint itself, which is sealed for life. The ball joints at each end of the tracicrod and drag/fink are checked in the usual way, with a hand on each joint, while the steering is turned to and fro with the wheels on the ground. Each joint has a grease nipple.
