Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A complete service workshop and MoT test bay has been planned, equipped and fitted out in every detail for Lambert Autos of Liverpool by FKI Claydrum.

The finished job covers everything from jump leads, hand tools, wheel chocks and statutory signs, to vehicle lifts, advanced diagnostic equipment, engine oil dispensers and a compressed air ring main.

The new Lambert Autos venture forms part of the Merseyside Waterfront development.

The project came about through the company embarking on a Fiat franchise in addition to existing Citroen and Lada dealerships. Fiat has established raised minimum servicing standards for its dealerships and these requirements were supplemented by the dealers' own quality and performance goals. Director Richard Lambert invited tenders.

Now complete, the installation occupies around 430m2 and comprises four lubricating bays, a wheel-balancing and engine disgnostic area and MoT test centre. The servicing goal is 1,000 man-hours a month.

The four lubrication bays are each equipped with an asyrnetric two-post lift and collectively served by two wallmounted engine oil reels fitted with hose-end meters and linked to a 1,400 litre (300 gallon) pumped supply. Waste oil is completed by a waste oil burner for space heating.

A workshop air ring main is powered by a 0.616m3/min (22cfmin) compressor and features waist-height double air points fitted with quick-fix couplers. Associated equipment includes an air-operated parts cleaning unit, steam and vacuum cleaners and a powered grease gun.

A three-tonne, four-post lift serves for mechanical repairs, wheel balancing/aligning and exhaust/tyre replacement; while an osciloscope-based diagnostic centre, with infra-red CO analyser, provides for engine tuning. There are three static steel workbenches, complete with vices, grinder, soldering iron and other equipment.

The MoT test bay was supplied as an all-inclusive package.
