AThe Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regu
lations 1973 apply, in general, to all wheeled motor vehicles used on roads and this, obviously, includes public service vehicles which are also subject to the Public Service Vehicles (Conditions of Fitness, Equipment and Use) Regulations 1972.
• Regulation 26 of the C and. U Regulations deals with the fitting of windscreen washers, and these must be fitted to those vehicles which have to be fitted with windscreen wipers under the preceding Regulation.
However, sub-section (2) of Regulation 26 exempts from the necessity to have windscreen washers fitted, vehicles being used for the time being as stage carriages or on any journey incidental to such use.
